Luiz Felipe joined Al-Ittihad from Real Betis in September last year for €22m. But 13 months on he is set to leave the Saudi Arabian club on a free transfer if contract termination talks go smoothly.
Luiz Felipe has reportedly only played 28 games for Al-Ittihad. But has struggled with muscular injuries throughout his time with the club and has only played 20 minutes this season. With Betico linked once again with the player reportedly in talks with the Saudi Arabian outfit over terminating the remainder of his contract.
For Real Betis, they still need to strengthen the center position. Although they have Diego Llorente and Natan Bernardo de Sousa, Marc Bartra still has continuous injury problems. Therefore, bringing Luiz Felipe back to the club again is an interesting option. However, the 28-year-old center will have to accept a significant salary cut as well.
Al-Ittihad defender Luiz Felipe is expected to leave The Tigers at the end of the season, most notably if the team gets to secure its priority signing in the transfer market.
